Winter Is Coming - Prepare your Gym with Wattbike

October 16, 2026 2 min read

The clocks are changing, the weather is getting colder and gym floors are starting to fill up.

Here is why investing in a Wattbike now, before the January rush, is a no-brainer for any gym operator.

1. Reliability that is Trusted by the Best

It's no secret that Wattbikes are used across Elite Sportand the British Armyand have been since 2008. One of the main reasons why is due to our product's robust build and high usage tolerances.

If our bikes can stand up to elite soldiers and 120kg rugby players, then Wattbikes will also hold their own on your gym floor throughout your busiest period. Save the dreaded "out of order" sign for someone else's equipment.

2. Best in Class off-feet conditioning

Winter is the season where many amateur athletes find themselves heading indoors. Nights draw in, and slogging away on a sopping wet football field to try and get some extra cardio in alongside an increasing number of matches is far less appealing than it was just a few weeks ago.

This is where we come in. Wattbike offers athletes the cardiovascular benefits of running but without the injury risk or the need to go outside when the elements turn against you. Furthermore, our data provides your members with the proof that their training is making them get better. If their power numbers are increasing, then their training is working!

3. Give your PTs Another String to their Bow

Personal trainers need to show clients that their programmes are making them fitter.

Strength is easy to benchmark, either with a one-rep max test or simply by showing a client that a weight they struggled with a few weeks ago now goes up easily. But how do you show someone their cardio has improved?

Running tests carry a higher injury risk. Rowing needs good technique to give reliable results. Other cardio equipment doesn't have in-built testing protocols. A Wattbike solves all three of these problems.

Indoor cycling is low-impact, needs no specialist technique, and our PTS2 Monitor has benchmarking built in. It includes a 6-second max power test, the sub-maximal Healthspan Check, and a maximal ramp test that gives an estimated VO₂ max. Your PTs can use these tests to show members they're improving, which helps you keep the new members you'll pick up in January.
