3 min Test for VO₂
The study found no significant difference between the 3-min Test's VO₂ max estimate and true lab-measured VO₂ max, with a mean difference of just 0.29 ml·kg⁻¹·min⁻¹ (around 0.5%) across all subjects.
Testing is in our DNA. Wattbike was designed alongside British Cycling to benchmark Olympic hopefuls ahead of the 2008 Olympics. Since then, our testing protocols have become industry-renowned across Elite Sport, Healthcare and Health & Fitness. From integrated VO₂ max testing algorithms to max power tracking - no other piece of equipment is so accessible, or so reliably accurate.
You cannot improve what you do not measure. If your customers want to improve their VO₂ max, lower their resting heart rate or simply lose weight, they need accurate testing to know they're improving. And when you measure data, you need confidence in its accuracy every time.
Who should complete fitness testing?
Anyone who wants to improve their fitness should begin by understanding where they currently stand - no matter their age, gender or fitness background. With Wattbike, benchmarking doesn't need to be a maximal effort: our Healthspan Sub-maximal Check provides an accurate VO2 max estimate to within 2% of laboratory testing, using Storer's algorithm.
What tests can I do on a Wattbike?
We offer integrated tests on both our PTS2 monitor and our app.
How can testing help my business?
Health and fitness facilities need to show members visible results. By integrating a Wattbike benchmark test into a member's onboarding, a PT can show improvement over time - proving how their programme is positively impacting cardiovascular health, and aiding retention. You can be certain of the data's accuracy, no matter which model you're using.
Why should I care about testing?
Understanding key health metrics like VO2 max lets you see exactly how strong your cardiovascular fitness is. From there, you can improve it - retesting further into your fitness journey to track improvement. Metrics like these were once reserved for a laboratory. Now they're available at your local gym.
